Email Alerts and Text Notifications
Total Connect allows you to receive an email or text alert each time an
event occurs at your home. From knowing when your system is armed or
disarmed, to getting a message when the temperature is low - the
possibilities are endless! Simply setup the event, along with a short
description to be sent to you each time the event occurs. Every time
the event occurs, within seconds you’ll receive a time/date stamped
message along with your short description – ready for you to respond.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q - Do I still need alarm monitoring?
Yes. Total Connect notification events are limited to non-alarm events. Any event or alarm trigger device or sensor that is set to be reported to our Alarm Monitoring Central Station will be transmitted and handled directly by our professional operators. To include, if necessary, verifying the alarm event and placing a ‘Call to Dispatch’ to the appropriate local authorities.
Q - Can I email a notification to my local authorities myself and ask that they respond?
No. At this time all email notifications sent via Total Connect, though secure, are not recognized by Massachusetts Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services as a verified ‘Call to Dispatch’
Q – Do I have to change my current alarm system to use Total Connect?
Total Connect can be activated on almost any security panel. However, to take full advantage of all of the features you may need to upgrade your control board. For more information, speak to your Wayne Alarm Systems Consultant to discuss your system and what features are available to you.
Q – Does Total Connect work on my iPhone?
Yes – You can download the free Honeywell - Total Connect App from Apple iTunes for your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Q – Does Total connect work with my Android smart phone or my Blackberry?
Yes – most popular models running current release software can access the Wayne Alarm Systems Total Connect secured portal directly. Your sales consultant can provide you more details regard your specific phone and service provider.
Q - How many emails notification events can I have?
8 – Eight events are currently supported. These events can be any event / alarm trigger that would not otherwise be treated as an alarm event by our Alarm Monitoring Central Station. Notifications of Arming and Disarming of your system are considered a single event.
Q – Can I change what events I am receiving email notification from?
Yes – With Total Connect you are in complete control of all functions that are available from your real world keypad. Any motion detector or other physical trigger that is properly configured into your home keypad will be available to you when you are connected to your Total Connect virtual keypad.
Q – Can I send email notifications to more than one person at a time?
Yes – you can setup a maximum of 6 emails accounts in the Total Connect system. Each email you enter will receive any and all notification emails sent from Total Connect.
Q – Can Total Connect work with my security video cameras?
Yes – However at this time Wayne Alarm is still exploring the specifics of integration with the wide array of video cameras and services available from Wayne Alarm Systems in order to offer a complete list of options that address the real world needs of our customers. Please contact Sales if you would like to know more about integrating video into your Total Connect suite – offering live video ‘look in’ capabilities via PC, iPhone, iPad, laptops and smart phones with email alerts sent based on your selected trigger and event recording both post and pre alarm event video. All stored online on the secured Honeywell network for your detailed review.
Q – I have seen similar systems online and in retail outlets, but most of them seem to be made by companies that I would normally not consider to be security related companies. Is there a real difference between those products and Total Connect from Honeywell?
Yes – Although many of these manufacturers produce high quality equipment and software, only a company like Honeywell with decades of security experience and a world-wide security services dealer network can offer you this type of service – tied directly into your alarm system.
Total Connect is not about replacing your Alarm Monitoring Company; Total Connect is about expanding how you think about your alarm system and better leveraging its potential for management as well as security.
Q – Can I purchase Total Connect direct from Honeywell?
No – Total connect is only available from an Authorized Honeywell dealer such as Wayne Alarm Systems.
